Just a Kid Who Liked to Draw: Am I employable?
When you've been trying to find a job for over a year, you start asking yourself some questions
Let’s get a couple of things out of the way first. I haven’t had a stable, full-time job in over a year, but being a motion + graphic designer allows me to freelance, so that is something of a blessing when I start panicking about how to feed my family. I also know I am far from the only person in this situation. Hell, my industry is just one of many industries going through this. It sucks. There’s no more eloquent way of saying it. Layoffs/Restructuring/Downsizing have always been, and probably will always be a thing if you work in the United States. And right now it’s particularly awful.
If you are in the same boat as me:
a) I am so sorry. This is so stressful.
b) You are not alone. There are MANY of us also going through this.
c) Job Hunting is one of the circles of Hell. You cannot convince me otherwise.1
Now onto the rant!
